OPEN OFFICE.ORG

OpenOffice.org, commonly known as OpenOffice, it's an open source software application available for a number of different computer operating systems. It is distributed as a free softwear and it uses its own GUI toolkit. Since November 2009^[update], OpenOffice works with over 110 languages.

OpenOffice.org was derived from StartOffice, it was developed by Star Division in August 1999. It was released in July 2000 with the aim of reducing the dominant market of Microsoft Office by providing a free and open alternative; later versions of StarOffice are based upon OpenOffice.org with additional proprietary components. The OpenOffice.org project is sponsored by Oracle Corporation .

I personally think it is a bit weak. I preffer using Microsoft Office, even though I get really mad every time I think of it's excesive price. So, until OpenOffice is a bit stronger and a little more comfortable to use, I'm going to be stuck with "good" old expensive Microsoft Office.
